Santa Clara, Calif.-based McAfee, Inc. today announced that it has joined the HP BladeSystem Solution Builder Program, a community of more than 300 technology and service providers working together to accelerate the deployment of customer-centric solutions on HP BladeSystem architecture. McAfee's new Content Security Blade Server is fully integrated with HP BladeSystem c-Class server blades.

"Through the HP BladeSystem Solution Builder Program, McAfee can leverage HP's industry-leading blade server technology to deliver security solutions with accelerated deployment capabilities that are easier for our customers to manage," said Paul Rolfe, vice president of technology alliances at McAfee. "McAfee is committed to offering its customers best-in-class solutions and uncompromised performance."

As e-mail volume and network traffic continue to increase, enterprises are challenged to maintain sufficient scanning capacity and bandwidth. Traditional solutions must be multiplied to meet this demand and often require complex and expensive load balancers. The McAfee Content Security Blade Server delivers the high performance organizations require and is scalable to meet future needs. Built-in load balancers require no configuration and make multiple scanning blades operate as if they were a single unit.

McAfee Content Security Blade Server provides a high-performance solution for malware, spam and other undesirable content entering or leaving a network. The blade server design allows enterprises to lower operational costs by reducing the need to purchase and manage multiple point products. Blade servers are more efficient than traditional appliances, allowing users to save, on average, up to 37.5 percent of rack space, use 30 percent less power and cut cabling by up to 94 percent.

"Customers who manage high-volume network traffic from everyday applications like e-mail can run their businesses more securely through development efforts of companies like McAfee's," said Michael Kendall, worldwide manager, BladeSystem Solution Builder Program at Palo Alto, Calif.-based HP. "With unlimited Web access and the large amounts of data produced from applications like e-mail, customers are challenged to guard against malware, spam and harmful viruses. Together, the BladeSystem c-Class and the McAfee Content Security Blade Server provide customers improved integrity of their business data."

The HP BladeSystem Solution Builder Program is a global community of technology and service delivery providers who collaborate with HP and one another to define, develop, deliver and deploy customer solutions built for HP BladeSystem. Program members include independent hardware vendors, independent software vendors, system integrators and service-oriented resellers with a substantial SI practice and expertise in the rapidly growing blade market.
