The population of the United States soars past 300 million, only 39 years after it passed 200 million.
The demography is good news for the economy, with plenty of working-age people to support the growing numbers of retired.
It's a stark contrast to Europe, where fertility rates are lower than ever and the population is even shrinking in some parts.
