Howard Stern smeared CNBC Melissa Francis on the radio Thursday, after Francis reported on Wednesday that Howard Stern's move to satellite radio was not a good idea after all.

Francis reported an article by Bill Tancer of Hitwise which cites a 71% decline in Web traffic for howardstern.com since his move to satellite radio.

Stern answered back saying that he is "the victim of a smear campaign" by people (Francis) who is trying to "discredit" his satellite radio show.

Stern also promised to release numbers contrary to the report by Francis that will show traffic on his web site has not diminished since his arrival at Sirius.

"I've got more enemies now than I ever have. We are so successful here at Sirius Satellite Radio," Stern said. "My enemies are way worse than the government. Big business is my enemy, business people desperate for money. And let me tell you, they are way worse than the government."
