In an interview with Moshe Buller, the Israeli private detective who tracked Kobi Alexander and released his Sri Lanka location to the press on Thursday, proves once again that reality far surpasses the creativity of Hollywood screenwriters.
"The Americans put out feelers for me around August 11-12 regarding locating [Kobi] Alexander. This is not the first time I have been approached by foreign entities. I work often for U.S. companies and law firms and have solved bigger cases in the past. I was approached to look for Alexander by a group of hedge funds that represent thousands of U.S. investors," Buller said.
On Friday morning, Buller got on an airplane bound for the United States to collect his fee. About the sum he says, "it is not sky high - it is not millions and not even hundreds of thousands of dollars and income tax authorities will see all of it," Israel's haaretz.com reports.
Former Comverse Technology CEO Kobi Alexander was charged with conspiracy along with two other senior executives, the Department of Justice reports that two brokerage accounts with $45 million of Alexander's assets have been frozen, it appears that he transferred over $57 million to accounts in Israel in what the government asserts was a money laundering scheme "in an effort to conceal the funds from U.S. authorities." Alexander is an Israeli citizen and is a former military officer there
